VelvetRidge Games

A London studio making games and learning software.

VelvetRidge Games designs, builds and publishes for Android. We keep few things in flight at once, so every product is looked after by the people who made it.

About the studio

VelvetRidge Games is a trading name of Aishladi Ltd, registered in England and Wales. The studio is small and self-funded: design, engineering, release work and support all sit in the same room.

Our work leans toward things that are usually explained badly — systems you are told about but never get to see. We build them as something you can open up, take apart and run. Offline, without accounts, without advertising or tracking.

What we do

Android development

Native applications written and maintained in-house, from architecture and interface through to release builds and store compliance.

Game and systems design

Rules, progression and feedback loops designed alongside the code, so what gets planned is what actually ships.

Simulation and teaching tools

Controlled, offline models of real systems, built so that a learner can experiment without consequences and see cause and effect.

Publishing and support

Store presence, releases, updates and the compliance paperwork Google Play asks for on the products we own.

Roundtrip — a request and response simulator

Roundtrip

Android · com.wirelearn.roundtrip · free, no ads

A hands-on way to learn how the web works underneath, with no network code and no internet connection. You assemble an HTTP request piece by piece — choose a method, set the path, add headers, write a body — then watch the round trip play out step by step, so the machinery behind every web page becomes visible.

It is a teaching simulation rather than a real client. Requests run against a small simulated server with endpoints worth exploring, and Roundtrip shows the raw message that would go out alongside the response it produces: status line, headers, body, and the status code explained in plain language so you finally know your 200 from your 404 from your 500.

  • Guided lessons covering methods, status codes, headers and message structure, each with a challenge to build the right request — and a hint when you are stuck.
  • An endpoints map showing exactly what the simulated server understands, so paths are never guesswork.
  • A tappable reference of common methods, status codes and headers, each with a real example.
  • Saved request history and progress milestones as you cover more of what HTTP can do.
  • Runs entirely on the device. No account, no connection, no advertising, no analytics.
